    Questions about Lamentations 3:24

Why wait on Christmas Eve with Lamentations 3:24?

December 24, 2026 is Christmas Eve, and Lamentations 3:24 says the Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him. The night waits for a child, not for a feeling. Hope waits on God when the year's other portions have run out.

What if Christmas Eve feels empty rather than magical?

Then the verse is precisely yours. A portion is a share you are given. Waiting for the Lord is the holy work of this night, more honest than forcing a mood.

How do I keep Christmas Eve with this verse?

Pray that he is your portion before the gathering, the meal, or the quiet. Wait for him on purpose. Let the other desires stand in line behind that wait.
