    Why Read Scripture Daily?

The Catholic Church has always encouraged the faithful to nourish themselves with Sacred Scripture. The Second Vatican Council taught that "ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ" (St. Jerome, quoted in Dei Verbum).

Daily Scripture reading — even just one verse — trains the mind to think with God, softens the heart, and gradually transforms how we see the world. The saints who read Scripture daily were the saints who loved most deeply.
